  1.     This is a reply I sent out to a friend of mine. It was a
  2. valid question, and I thought I would share it with you. His
  3. name will not be used.

  5. XXXXXXXX:I think my nephews play the game "DOOM." The way I see
  6. it is... if you don't know what it all means, how can you be
  7. effected. Do you think the guys who wrote it are Devil
  8. worshippers???????? I think they are going for effect, trying to
  9. make it eerie...

  12.      Hi XXXXXXXX,     Thanks for the reply to my mail. Now to
  13. answer your questions. First I have to tell you I don't even
  14. know where to start! I have a lot of information I want to tell
  15. you, but I'm sure once I start here I'll have no problem.
  16.      I would like to tell you the way I feel about using occult
  17. images in the media, comics, television, computer games....Hmmm
  18. isn't that interesting. I just noticed when I typed that last
  19. sentence that it seems that "OCCULT" images are all around us!
  20. Could we agree on that? Could we ask the question, "If it doesn't
  21. mean anything, why is it so prevalent in our society?" Look back
  22. just 2 years ago, did you see any advertisements about calling your
  23. own personal Psychic? Tarot card readings? My sister told me
  24. that a girl at work, her daughter had her Tarot cards read, and
  25. asked how her brother's future looked. The person doing the
  26. reading pulled the death card on her brother. Now she was just a
  27. teenager, but I guess she really flipped out. The death card is
  28. the one with the Pale Rider of death on a horse, with a sickle.
  29. It probably seemed innocent enough at first but she found out a
  30. lot more than she wanted to know, can you imagine how that made
  31. her feel? 
  32.      Jesus predicted a fascination with the occult when he said:
  33. "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform
  34. great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect (true
  35. believers) if that were possible" (Matthew 24:24)
  36.      The term "Occult", merely means "hidden or secret." Take a
  37. look at some of the clothing and jewelry, so popular with the kids
  38. today, how it stresses satanic & pagan symbols, representations of
  39. horrible specters, and demons. This also ties in with fantasy role
  40. playing games, with an estimated 2,000,000 player just in the
  41. U.S.A. alone, minus 55 documented players who killed themselves
  42. being involved in the game. Did you know that when they are
  43. casting spells that they are the same ones used in Witchcraft,
  44. and Satanism? Most player's don't know it. Yet they call on
  45. Demons for their power to crush another player.
  46.       I have to stop here and tell you that I do believe in the
  47. Bible. So If I believe in the Bible, I also believe what it tells
  48. me. If I had no Bible, I would not be writing this to you now. I
  49. would be playing the computer game "DOOM". I must take the warnings
  50. in the Bible seriously! I don't fully understand what goes on in
  51. the spirit world, but Jesus does, and he said stay away from all
  52. forms of the occult. By looking at Horoscopes in the paper you
  53. are trying to predict your own future. This is an abomination
  54. onto God.
  55.      One analogy I heard of talking about the spirit
  56. world was...You cannot see the wind, but yet you can feel it.
  57. Can we say then that because you cannot see it, that the wind
  58. does not exist?
  59.      We are bombarded with occultic things all around us, to keep
  60. seeing them you tend to be desensitized by them. Again I must
  61. stress the psychic hot-lines, a 30 second commercial, to a half
  62. hour infomercial in just a couple of years.
  63.      Will your nephew be affected by paying the computer
  64. game "DOOM", even if he doesn't know any thing about the occult?
  65. I say the images are right there! Upside-down Cross, Demons, and
  66. a Devilish head with red eyes. He's playing with a loaded gun,
  67. that might not go off now, but it might when he becomes a
  68. teenager. He might be introduced to those images by someone
  69. later in his life, when he's out on his own and not think
  70. nothing of it. Go to movies with occultic themes, and listen to
  71. music that is less than godly. I believe this is why parents
  72. have such a big responsibility to make sure their children are
  73. aware of the snares that are out there.
  74.      I don't necessarily believe that the makers of "DOOM" are
  75. Devil Worshipers, but I could of thought up a lot of different ways
  76. to have a good game, without a Devilish theme. They probably don't
  77. know anything about Jesus or Satan, But that's the way Satan likes
  78. it, the less you know about him the better. I kind of wonder who
  79. gave them the thought of the characters and theme. Or was that just
  80. the wind they heard?

  86. P.S. Have you ever seen "HELLS BELLS"? It's a movie about Rock
  87. Music and how the occult has infiltrated it. It's a real eye
  88. opener!
